👷 Meet the Team at Floyd’s Flooring

Floyd’s Flooring is locally owned and operated in Manistique, MI. I’m Tyler, owner and lead installer, and I’ve been installing flooring for over 12 years. I personally oversee every project to ensure quality workmanship and attention to detail from start to finish.

Working alongside me is Cletus, a skilled installer who has spent most of those 12 years in the trade with me. His experience and efficiency help us deliver clean, precise installs on every job.

We’re also joined by my cousin Jake, who has been part of the team for the past year. As an installation technician, he assists with prep work, material handling, and on-site support — helping us keep projects running smoothly and on schedule while continuing to grow in the trade.

Together, we focus on solid preparation, clean installs, and flooring that’s built to last.

Filming What I Do Every Day

I’ve always enjoyed creating short films and capturing moments on camera. Since flooring is what I do every day, it naturally became what I like to film.

This video shows part of a glue-down carpet stair installation — the kind of detailed work that goes into every project. I take pride in the craftsmanship, and filming it allows me to share that process in a creative way.

Sometimes the music I choose isn’t always PG — but that’s part of making my own films and expressing the artistic side of the trade. It’s real, it’s authentic, and it reflects the personality behind the work.

Every once in a while, you’ve got to have a little fun with the trade. This prehistoric-themed install was a creative way to show that while flooring has evolved, hard work and craftsmanship haven’t.

Behind the humor is the same attention to detail and pride that goes into every real project we complete.
